Clint Townsend- Chairman of the Board
Clint was born in Dumas, Texas and raised in Amarillo. He attended the University of North Texas and graduated in 2012 with degrees in economics and political science. As a student, he built the foundations for a successful libertarian student movement throughout Texas by hosting various academic conferences and establishing new student groups. Upon graduating, Clint began working for Students For Liberty as the Director of North American Programs where he led efforts to host conferences across the country and build robust leadership programs. Clint now serves as the Marketing and Outreach Manager for the Cato Institute in Washington, DC.
His favorite figures in liberty are Étienne de La Boétie, Harriet Tubman, Albert Jay Nock, H. L. Mencken, Roy Childs and Andrew Kaluza. Outside of work, Clint enjoys classical music from Mozart to Gershwin as well as 19th century literature, especially the works of Oscar Wilde. He also stays active with softball, volleyball, and biking. It is entirely likely that he’ll respond blankly to any pop-culture references; he hasn’t even seen Star Wars.
