Socratic Seminar Series

TMI hosts hour-long small group gatherings alongside happy hours. These events serve as a space for discussions where we address open-ended questions based on a given text, listen to each others comments and respond thoughtfully, and walk away with a better understanding of the topic at hand and those around them.

Freedom presupposes individuals thinking critically about what that entails. In a culture where reason is being pushed to the wayside, now, more than ever, it is important to champion the kind of practice that is at the heart of true liberation.

We believe that one way to achieve this goal is through Socratic practice–thinking for oneself and well together is at the forefront of creating the world that we want to live in. Through cooperative argumentative dialogue we find answers to questions that will lead us toward better understandings of the world around us.
